In October 2021, the Hastings People team will be competing in the 2021 Noosa Triathlon, Smiling for Smiddy. The triathlon includes a 1.5KM swim, 40KM ride, and 10KM. It’s an experience that’s about more than just the finish line, all funds raised will be going to Mater, supporting the prevention and treatment of cancer.
Hastings People will be flying up from Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane to participate in this challenge with the goal of raising $5000!
Smiling for Smiddy is an organisation founded by friends of talented triathlete, Adam Smiddy. Adam passed away in 2006 at just-26 years-old from an aggressive melanoma. To honour Adam, his close friends rode 1600km from Brisbane to Adam’s hometown of Home Hill and raised $24,000 for cancer research. Over the years the Smiling for Smiddy team has grown into a wonderful series of challenges.
