The Role:
The Client is seeking a Sous Chef to support the Head Chef in the day-to-day management of kitchen operations. This is a hands-on leadership role, with a strong focus on service execution, team supervision, and maintaining high standards across food quality, cleanliness, and efficiency.
The role suits a motivated Sous Chef looking to step into a key leadership position within a supportive and well-established environment.
Responsibilities
- Support the Head Chef in delivering smooth and efficient services
- Lead the kitchen team during service, ensuring consistency and quality
- Assist with ordering, rostering, and general kitchen operations
- Uphold food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness standards at all times
- Train, mentor, and support junior kitchen staff
- Contribute to a positive, energetic, and professional kitchen culture
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Sous Chef or in a comparable leadership role
- Background in fast-paced, high-volume kitchen environments
- Strong communication skills with a collaborative leadership style
- High personal standards and a strong work ethic
- Willingness to relocate and commit long-term to the venue
- Familiarity with North Queensland dining culture is advantageous
