Job Description
  
As the sous chef, you will be responsible for supporting the head chef with all areas of kitchen operations. Delivering on the seasonal, conceptual menus created whilst creating a positive, nurturing environment in which individuals and the broader team can thrive. Furthermore, you will assist in driving profitability, while continuously improving product, in line with the upmarket brand and relevant safety standards. This role reports into the venue’s head chef and will have you working alongside some of the industry's most recognisable names.

You will work in a highly collaborative way, engaging with the head chef, when helping create menus, evolving processes and ensuring sound operations whilst leading the kitchen team in the absence of the head chef’s rostered days off.

Candidate Profile 

To be considered for this role you will have:

  • Experience as a senior chef in a restaurant style offering in Australia or internationally

  • Previous experience in managing a kitchen team and the skills and the ability to lead, coach and mentor a high performing team

  • A “hands-on” approach and the ability to execute kitchen operations

  • High level communication and a positive and consultative approach to your peers

  • The ability to review operational performance and make improvements where necessary

  • Complete understanding of regulatory compliance across food

  • Full Australian working rights
