Job Description
As Sous Chef, you will support the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food quality and cleanliness. This is a hands-on role with a focus on leading the team during service, assisting with ordering, rostering, and maintaining kitchen efficiency.
- Work closely with the Head Chef to deliver smooth and efficient services
- Support operational tasks including rostering and ordering
- Uphold food safety and cleanliness standards at all times
- Contribute to a positive and energetic kitchen culture
- Assist in training and mentoring junior staff
The ideal candidate will bring strong operational focus, energy, and a collaborative mindset. Experience in high-paced kitchen environments and a clear alignment with leadership goals are essential.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a Sous Chef or similar role
- Strong work ethic and excellent communication skills
- Team-focused and committed to a high standard of service
- Familiarity with North Queensland dining culture is advantageous
- Willingness to relocate and engage long-term with the venue
