This established and highly regarded venue has built a loyal customer base, including many well-known regulars. With hands-on owners and a dedicated restaurant manager, the venue is consistently busy and thrives on providing high-quality dining experiences.

Job Description

The Head Chef will oversee all aspects of the kitchen operation, leading a team of six in a compact, high-volume environment. This is an opportunity to take charge of a well-established menu while identifying opportunities for refinement and efficiency.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Leading and managing the kitchen team, including long-standing staff members
  • Maintaining high operational and cleanliness standards in line with HACCP and council requirements
  • Overseeing inventory, ordering, and kitchen administration
  • Ensuring efficient processes in kitchen environment from ordering, receiving, and storing produce 
  • Collaborating closely with the restaurant manager and venue owners
Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will be an experienced kitchen leader with a strong background in high-volume venues. They will bring a process-driven approach and excellent communication skills to inspire and guide their team.

Key skills and experience:
  • Previous experience as a Head Chef or Kitchen Manager
  • Strong organisational and leadership skills, with the ability to manage established teams
  • Demonstrated knowledge of HACCP and compliance requirements
  • Ability to work under pressure in a busy service environment
  • A practical, hands-on leadership style with strong stakeholder engagement skills
