Our client is a produce-focused restaurant whose restaurant and reputation with locals and destination diners has steadily grown since opening pre-COVID, with a reputation for excellence in giving their clientele a true dining experience. Their business is as focused on offering quality dining experiences with locally sourced and native produce as it is on their extensive wine list. Due to ongoing expansion with another venue in the pipeline for the end of the year, they are now on the search for a hands-on creative head chef to be a part of their growth plans.
Job Description
As the Head Chef of our client's venue, you will be responsible for leading and managing the kitchen team, creating exceptional dishes that showcase your creativity and culinary skills with share plates being the main focus of their concept. You will work closely with the owners and front-of-house team to ensure that the dining experience meets and exceeds guests' expectations, and you'll be responsible for managing food costs, inventory, and kitchen staff. With an already established tight-knit kitchen team, this role will include inspiring and developing the next generation of chefs.
Candidate Profile
To be considered for this role, you should have:
- Proven experience as a Senior Chef in a well-established venue
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- The ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks effectively
- A commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and consistency
- Exceptional culinary skills and a passion for creating exceptional dining experiences
- A collaborative and team-oriented approach
- Sound knowledge of managing food and labour costs
- Knowledge or a keen interest in wine is advantageous
- Willingness to speak with guests
