Job Description
The Head Chef will oversee the daily kitchen operations within a compact, fast-paced restaurant located inside a boutique hotel in Sydney. Working closely with senior culinary leadership, the role will focus on maintaining high operational standards while leading and developing a small team. Menu direction is guided by senior leadership, with the Head Chef encouraged to contribute ideas and input.
Key responsibilities include:

Leading day-to-day kitchen operations including service execution and team management

Managing ordering, rostering, and kitchen organisation

Maintaining quality, consistency, and operational standards

Supporting hotel-related kitchen functions such as in-room dining and guest amenities

Contributing ideas and input to menu development
Candidate Profile
This role is ideally suited to a passionate and hands-on chef ready to take the next step into a leadership role. The successful candidate will bring strong foundational training, a positive attitude, and a willingness to lead from the front in a high-energy kitchen environment.
Ideal experience includes:

Currently a Sous Chef or strong Senior Chef de Partie ready to step up

Solid technical foundations developed in quality restaurant environments

Exposure to high-performing kitchens with strong culinary standards

A humble, team-focused approach and willingness to work across all areas of the kitchen

Interest in developing commercial skills including forecasting and budgeting
Experience with Italian cuisine is advantageous but not essential.
