Job Description
The Group Retail Buying Manager leads the end-to-end retail buying function, including supplier negotiations, product ranging, promotional planning, pricing strategy, and store space commercialisation. This role will drive financial outcomes, supplier spend, and customer engagement across a multi-site liquor retail business.
- Lead the development of core, extended, and tactical product ranges
- Negotiate best-in-market supplier agreements and drive above-the-line spend
- Oversee pricing strategy, promotional calendar, and space planning
- Manage inventory and POS compliance across the retail network
- Provide financial reporting and insights to executive leadership
You will be an experienced buying professional with a strong commercial mindset and proven leadership capability. With significant exposure to liquor or FMCG retail buying, you bring confidence in negotiation, strategic planning, and cross-functional stakeholder management.
- 10+ years in retail, with deep buying and supplier negotiation experience
- Strong understanding of liquor pricing, promotions, and ranging strategy
- Financially astute with experience in budget and rebate management
- Collaborative leadership style and ability to influence across departments
- Advanced knowledge of merchandising, space planning and store layout
