Job Description

This role will lead the day-to-day operations of a large, high-volume pub in Mackay. The General Manager will be responsible for driving financial performance, maintaining operational standards and building a strong leadership team across all departments including food, beverage and gaming.

You will oversee venue strategy while ensuring the delivery of exceptional guest experiences in a fast-paced environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and developing a large multidisciplinary team

  • Driving revenue growth across food, beverage and gaming

  • Managing financial performance including budgets, reporting and cost control

  • Maintaining high service standards and operational compliance

  • Working closely with senior leadership to deliver venue strategy

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is an experienced pub or large venue operator who thrives in high-volume environments. You will bring strong commercial acumen, proven leadership capability and a passion for building high-performing teams.

You will be comfortable managing complex operations and delivering results in a dynamic hospitality environment.

Key attributes include:

  • Proven experience as a Venue Manager or General Manager in a high-volume pub or hospitality venue

  • Strong understanding of food, beverage, rooms and gaming operations

  • Demonstrated ability to lead, train and retain large teams

  • Sound financial management and commercial decision-making skills

  • Excellent stakeholder communication and leadership capability
