Job Description

Job Description

Client Profile

This historic inner-city pub is a true local landmark. With a strong connection to its community and a reputation for delivering quality food, well-run service, and an authentic pub atmosphere, it continues to attract a broad and loyal clientele. The venue features a busy bistro, lively bar, and thriving gaming room, creating a dynamic and diverse operation. Backed by a small hospitality group with ambitious plans, this is a venue and a business on the rise.

Job Description

As General Manager, you will be responsible for the complete operation of the venue, driving performance across food, beverage, gaming, and service. More than just a manager, you will be the face of the pub — a visible leader, relationship builder, and cultural driver. You will work closely with the owners to identify areas of growth and lead the development of a passionate, guest-focused team.
  • Run all day-to-day operations, including compliance, service standards, and financials
  • Drive revenue and guest experience across all departments
  • Build, train, and lead a motivated front and back of house team
  • Engage directly with the community and create meaningful local relationships
  • Contribute to broader business development and group-level initiatives
Candidate Profile

You are a grounded, hands-on operator who lives and breathes the pub environment. A true publican, you understand the balance between commercial results and community connection. You lead by example, inspire your team, and take pride in creating a welcoming, well-run venue.
  • Minimum three years' experience in a senior pub or venue leadership role
  • Operational strength across bar, kitchen, and gaming
  • Excellent people management and team-building ability
  • Proven success in driving guest engagement and venue performance
  • Down-to-earth, community-minded, and passionate about hospitality
Offer
A competitive remuneration package is on offer, along with the chance to lead a flagship venue within a values-led and expanding group. This is an ideal opportunity for a hospitality leader who wants to step into a role with autonomy, legacy, and room to grow.
