The General Manager will oversee the daily front-of-house operations of a flagship all-day café in Austin, ensuring exceptional guest experiences and strong financial performance. Working in partnership with the Executive Chef, this role is accountable for operational excellence, team development and full P&L management within a high-revenue environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and developing all front-of-house team members, including recruitment, training, rostering and performance reviews
- Driving financial outcomes through labour management, COGS control, forecasting and P&L accountability
- Overseeing service across dine-in, catering, take-out, delivery and events
- Ensuring compliance with health, safety and regulatory standards
- Managing POS systems, payroll, inventory, purchasing and operational reporting
The ideal candidate is an experienced hospitality leader with a proven background managing high-volume venues with annual revenues exceeding $20M. You bring strong commercial acumen, a hands-on leadership style and a passion for delivering gracious hospitality.
You will demonstrate:
- Minimum 4–5 years’ experience as a General Manager in a premium, high-volume environment
- Demonstrated expertise in P&L management, budgeting, forecasting and labour modelling
- Strong people leadership capability with the ability to coach, mentor and build high-performing teams
- Advanced operational knowledge including POS, payroll systems and inventory management
- The ability to create and implement front-of-house SOPs and drive continuous improvement
