Role Profile

Reporting to the CFO, the Financial Controller will lead a small team of 3 with strong focus on developing SOP's and implementing new systems and processes that will drive efficiencies.

Responsibilities will include payroll, preparing and managing the venue financial budgets, and overseeing all activities relating to the financial aspects of all venues in compliance with the tax laws and also by the Venues Standard Operating Procedures.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Manage and maintain accurate financial records in QuickBooks for all venues.

  • Ensure all financial transactions are recorded and reconciled in the general ledger.

  • Prepare and process journal entries for daily financial transactions.

  • Monitor and reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and other financial statements

  • Prepare and submit timely and accurate financial reports to the Director of Operations

  • Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement.Candidate Profile

  •  Develop and maintain a system for tracking and categorizing expenses across all venues.

  • Review and verify all invoices, expense reports, and payment requests for accuracy.

  • Collaborate with department managers to ensure accurate and timely expense reporting.

  • Provide recommendations for cost-saving measures and efficiency improvements.

  • Oversee the use and maintenance of QuickBooks for all financial transactions.

  • Ensure that all team members using QuickBooks are trained and proficient in its use.

  • Troubleshoot any QuickBooks issues and provide solutions to optimize its functionality.

  • Work closely with the Director of Operations to provide financial data that informs business strategy.

  • Collaborate with the General Managers of each venue during their monthly financial reviews to ensure

    everything is coded correctly and expenses are accurately allocated to the right categories.

  • Support the Director of Operations with ad-hoc financial projects and tasks as required.

  • Maintain clear and organized financial records, both electronic and physical.


You will need:

  • CPA is a must for this role

  • Extensive experience with QuickBooks is required.

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial management.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

  • Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality environment is highly desirable but not essential.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks effectively.
