Our client is a highly successful hospitality group with a diverse portfolio of venues. With the recent refurbishment of their newest venue, they have transformed an iconic site in central Brisbane into a world-class dining precinct. With a variety of food offerings from all-day dining to an intimate and high-end Cantonese Restaurant, this venue has quickly become one of Brisbane's most popular dining destinations.

Job description

In this role, you will work closely with an experienced management team to take this venue to the next level. With areas of the site still to be completed, you will have the opportunity to play a key part in the design and execution of new and innovative dining concepts, as well as building and mentoring a tight-knit and passionate team of chefs.

Set across 4 floors as the Executive Chef you will be responsible for leading the team in and out of service, upholding the company’s focus on quality. The business is continually evolving to ensure it remains a destination for local and destination diners, for years to come, and you will be pivotal in this process.
 
Candidate Profile

First and foremost, you will be responsible for the performance of your own team including hiring, training and developing them, driving their performance and standards and giving them the tools to succeed. The ability to manage people appropriately is essential to success in this role.

To be considered for this role you will have:
  • Proven success as an Executive Chef within a multi-faceted business
  • Ability to work closely and communicate with key stakeholders
  • Creativity around menu development and food presentation within modern Italian cuisine
  • Experience with the management and mentoring of a large-scale team
  • Strong financial acumen relevant to labour and cost control
  • A highly structured and organised approach, managing multiple tasks simultaneously
