With an expanding portfolio and a clear vision for growth, they are seeking a high-performing Director of Sales to lead MICE business development for a premium regional venue. The brand is recognised for delivering memorable events and creating strong partnerships with corporate clients.
Job Description
Based in the Melbourne office with regular site visits to the property, this role is responsible for driving proactive sales strategies across the MICE sector. The successful candidate will be empowered to build long-term relationships, create new business channels, and contribute to strategic revenue goals. This is a highly autonomous role offering the opportunity to shape the commercial direction of the business.
Key responsibilities include:
Develop and implement a proactive sales plan targeting corporate, conferencing, and events clients
Identify new business opportunities through relationship building, outbound activity, and market research
Represent the property at industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities
Collaborate with the marketing and operations teams to ensure seamless event delivery and high client satisfaction
Maintain strong reporting and forecasting discipline, with regular updates to leadership on pipeline and performance
Leverage CRM tools and sales technology to optimise workflow and client engagement
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in MICE sales within the luxury or boutique accommodation space. They will be a confident communicator, highly proactive, and capable of independently driving business growth. A strong understanding of the corporate meetings and events market will be essential. This individual will bring a strategic mindset, creativity in approach, and a commitment to building enduring client partnerships.
Key experience and attributes include:
Demonstrated success in MICE or corporate event sales, ideally in a premium hospitality environment
Strong network of industry contacts and an ability to build lasting relationships with senior decision-makers
Ability to operate autonomously while collaborating effectively with broader commercial and operational teams
Commercially astute with a focus on delivering revenue growth and client value
Flexible to travel to the Macedon Ranges property as required, with a hands-on approach to building product knowledge
A self-starter with resilience, initiative, and a track record of exceeding sales targets
Exceptional presentation, negotiation, and communication skills
