Job Description

An opportunity has become available for an experienced Assistant Venue Manager to support the daily operations of a large, high-volume coastal pub on the Mornington Peninsula. Working closely with the Venue Manager, you will play a key role in leading the team, driving service standards and supporting financial performance.

This is a hands-on operational role suited to a leader who thrives in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the Venue Manager in overseeing all day-to-day operations

  • Leading and mentoring a large front-of-house team

  • Driving service excellence across food, beverage and events

  • Assisting with rostering, stock control and cost management

  • Ensuring compliance with liquor licensing, WHS and venue policies

Candidate Profile

You are a confident hospitality leader with experience in high-volume pubs, hotels or large-format venues. You bring energy, structure and a strong operational mindset, along with the ability to motivate and develop teams.

You will demonstrate:

  • Previous experience as an Assistant Venue Manager or senior Department Manager

  • Strong knowledge of food and beverage operations

  • Proven ability to lead teams in fast-paced environments

  • Solid understanding of compliance and venue procedures

  • A hands-on, solutions-focused leadership style
