Job Description

Client Profile

Our client is a premium hospitality group known for curating some of the most respected wine programs in Australia. With venues that regularly collaborate with world-class wineries, winemakers, and industry leaders, they have built a reputation for excellence, both in service and their deep commitment to wine education.

A career pathway for hospitality professionals passionate about wine, service, and being part of a high-performing team. Their Brisbane venue has become a destination for serious wine lovers and industry insiders alike, offering guests an exceptional dining experience backed by one of the country's most impressive cellars.

Job Description

Your role will involve supporting the day-to-day wine operations, managing the cellar, and ensuring accurate inventory control. You will lead service on the floor, engaging with guests to deliver exceptional, memorable wine experiences. A key part of the role is mentoring and training junior sommeliers and front-of-house staff, helping them grow their product knowledge and service skills. You’ll also contribute to the development of the wine list, foster strong supplier relationships, and actively participate in both internal and external training, masterclasses, and tasting events.

Candidate Profile

To be successful in the role you would have:
  • Previous experience in a sommelier or wine-focused role within high-end restaurants, luxury hotels, or hatted venues
  • Strong technical wine knowledge, with formal qualifications such as WSET, CMS or equivalent (or working towards them)
  • Natural leadership skills with the ability to mentor, coach, and inspire a team
  • Exceptional customer service standards and attention to detail
This role is based in Brisbane, offering a competitive remuneration package comprised of an excellent base salary, staff benefits and superannuation.
