In November the Hastings People team will be competing in the 2019 Noosa Triathlon Multi Sport Festival, joining the Smiling for Smiddy team to raise awareness and funds for cancer research.
Smiling for Smiddy is an organisation founded by friends of talented triathlete, Adam Smiddy. Adam passed away in 2006 at just-26 years-old from an aggressive melanoma. To honour Adam, his close friends rode 1600km from Brisbane to Adam’s hometown of Home Hill and raised $24,000 for cancer research. Over the years the Smiling for Smiddy team has grown into a wonderful series of challenges.
Hastings People's Managing Director, Luke Butler and Senior Consultant, Connell Newport will each participate in the Noosa Tri, challenging themselves with a 1500m swim, 20km bike ride and 10km run, while the rest of the Hastings team will complete the triathlon as a team.
Hastings People’s ethos and values centre around discipline, integrity and bettering oneself. To put our company ethos to action it was collectively decided to join Team Smiddy and take part in the event. The team is aiming to raise $2000, which will go towards funding ground-breaking research at Mater into the causes, prevention and treatment of various types of cancer. Please donate if you can help us reach our goal for Team Smiddy!
