They are seeking an experienced Sommelier to lead their wine program and elevate the guest experience within one of their flagship venues.
Job Description
As Sommelier, you will take ownership of the venue's wine and beverage program, balancing an engaging and commercially successful offering with exceptional service standards. You will play a key leadership role on the floor, mentoring the team, driving wine sales, and ensuring every guest enjoys an informed and memorable experience.
Key responsibilities include:
- Curate, maintain and continually develop an exceptional wine list aligned with the venue's philosophy.
- Deliver outstanding wine service while providing knowledgeable recommendations to guests.
- Lead wine education and ongoing training for the front of house team.
- Manage beverage ordering, inventory, stocktakes and GP performance.
- Partner with venue leadership on events, functions and continuous operational improvement.
You are a passionate hospitality professional with a genuine love of wine, outstanding service standards and the ability to inspire others. Equally comfortable engaging guests on the floor and managing the commercial aspects of the beverage program, you thrive in premium dining environments where attention to detail matters.
You will bring:
- Previous experience as a Sommelier or Wine & Beverage Manager within a premium restaurant or hospitality venue.
- WSET Level 2 or 3 (or equivalent formal wine qualifications).
- Strong knowledge of Australian and international wines with excellent guest engagement skills.
- Experience managing beverage costs, inventory and supplier relationships.
- A collaborative leadership style with a passion for developing high-performing teams.
This is an outstanding opportunity to join a respected hospitality group where you will have genuine influence over an evolving wine program while working alongside an experienced leadership team.
