Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Chef with a strong background in Japanese cuisine to join a high-performing culinary team. Working within a premium restaurant environment, you will play an important role in maintaining exceptional food standards, developing the kitchen team and ensuring consistency across a busy service.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering consistently high standards of Japanese cuisine, with a strong understanding of traditional and contemporary techniques
  • Leading, mentoring and developing chefs while fostering a professional and collaborative kitchen culture
  • Maintaining exceptional standards across preparation, presentation, food safety and kitchen operations
  • Supporting menu development, product quality and ongoing culinary innovation
  • Working closely with senior kitchen leadership to achieve operational and commercial objectives

Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will be an accomplished culinary professional with significant experience in premium Japanese restaurants or similarly high-quality dining environments. You will combine strong technical Japanese cooking knowledge with leadership capability, attention to detail and the ability to perform consistently in a fast-paced kitchen.

You will ideally demonstrate:

  • Strong professional experience in Japanese cuisine, with excellent knowledge of ingredients, techniques and flavour profiles
  • Experience in a senior kitchen position within a premium, high-volume or highly regarded restaurant
  • Strong leadership skills and a genuine commitment to coaching and developing kitchen teams
  • Excellent organisation, communication and operational discipline
  • A passion for quality produce, consistency and delivering memorable dining experiences
