Job Description
An opportunity exists for an experienced and passionate Pizza Chef to lead a dedicated section within a dynamic, high-volume kitchen environment. This role sits within a flagship CBD venue that experiences strong, event-driven trade and consistent foot traffic throughout the year.
The business operates with established systems designed to deliver consistency and quality across service. The pizza offering is a central component of the menu and continues to evolve as the group invests in infrastructure, equipment and operational refinement. This is an opportunity for a chef who values process, takes pride in craftsmanship and is motivated to contribute to the ongoing development of a growing hospitality operation.
The roster operates across five days, including Saturdays and Sundays, with peak trade periods during summer and major event seasons.
The role requires a chef who takes genuine ownership of their section, maintaining consistency, quality and organisation at all times. You will be responsible for ensuring preparation standards are upheld, anticipating potential challenges before service and maintaining control during high-volume trading periods. The venue experiences strong peak trade, particularly during major events and busy seasonal periods, requiring a calm, solutions-focused approach and the ability to lead from the front when service intensifies.
Key responsibilities include:
Managing all aspects of the pizza section from preparation through to service
Overseeing dough quality and consistency to maintain high standards
Delivering quality output during high-volume, event-driven trade
Identifying process improvements and implementing refined production systems
Contributing to menu development and exploration of additional pizza styles
Candidate Profile
You are technically strong, passionate about pizza craftsmanship and confident working in high-volume environments. You bring a strong understanding of dough development and the ability to identify and resolve issues before they impact service.
You will demonstrate:
Proven capability across multiple dough styles, including larger format and Polish doughs
Strong understanding of fermentation and dough management
Experience delivering 100+ covers in fast-paced service
A proactive mindset with attention to detail
A calm, resilient temperament suited to busy CBD trade
