Job Description

As the Head Sommelier, you will be fully responsible for the management of a clearly defined set of tasks while overseeing the restaurant's wine operations while having a strong focus on customer engagement.

As Head Sommelier of this group’s newest restaurant opening you will;
  • Be a key member of the restaurant management team and work closely with the kitchen leadership team
  • Have experience as a hands-on leader who has the ability to influence a positive workplace culture
  • Ensures that all standards and procedures for the operation are followed and are set up before, during and after services
  • Complete regular stocktakes and oversee all ordering
  • Have experience in rostering and approving timesheets accordingly
  • Induct and train all front of house employees
Candidate Profile

To be successful in this role you will have;
  • Experience as a leader in a fast-paced environment, under pressure, and with professionalism
  • Strong operational knowledge that’s shared to inspire the team
  • 3+ years experience as a sommelier
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, under pressure, and with professionalism
  • Great personal presentation, good communication and time management skills
  • Ability to lead and develop a team
  • Great personal presentation, good communication and time management skills
  • Master of Wines accreditation is an advantage
  • Extensive knowledge on wines and regions of the different types
  • Committed to delivering high levels of customer service and provide go-the extra-mile service
  • Extensive knowledge of all wines and wine service, encompassing alcoholic or non-alcoholic items.
