About the role

Reporting to the Executive Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the pastry kitchen, assisting with menu development and management of costs for your area. You will lead, motivate and supervise the team while ensuring quality and consistency. You must be energetic and enthusiastic with a real passion for your craft.

This is a hands-on role where you will be heavily involved in managing your own pastry kitchen to deliver excellence in quality of product, the team of this award-winning group are the best in the industry and is looking to grow their portfolio of restaurants. You will be empowered to proudly present your portfolio of visually inspiring work and will be encouraged to channel all of your creativity, passion and enthusiasm into creations that excite and stimulate the senses.  As a senior member of the culinary team, you will be responsible for delivering on your own vision and be accountable for the overall success of the daily pastry operations.

Key responsibilities of the role include:
  • Overseeing the pastry function and team within a premium restaurant
  • Managing a high performing team to deliver high-quality products
  • Creating memorable and personalised experiences for our guests in a premium setting
  • Leading, motivating and the Pastry Team
  • Ensuring Food Safety & Hygiene procedures are followed
  • Mentoring, training and supervising junior chefs, including apprentices
Candidate Profile 
 
To be considered for this role you will have; 
  • Experience as a Pastry Head Chef or Senior Sous chef in an a-la-carte restaurant
  • Display creativity and a passion for all things pastry
  • Exemplary leadership skills with a focus on staff development
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build effective relationships
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Adaptable to change
  • Solution-focused and possess initiative
Offer 
 
This role is offering a very strong remuneration package comprised of an excellent base salary with the expectation of strong tips when the restaurant is trading.
