Job Description
An outstanding opportunity exists for an experienced Head of People & Culture to lead the people function for a hospitality business operating in a complex and evolving environment. This role will suit a commercially minded and operationally strong HR leader who understands the realities of hospitality and can confidently balance culture, compliance and business performance. Reporting to the executive team, you will take ownership of the full people remit, with a strong focus on employee relations, workforce planning, Award interpretation, Fair Work compliance and visa sponsorship frameworks.Key responsibilities include:
- Lead the development and execution of the people and culture strategy across the business
- Provide expert guidance on hospitality Awards, classifications, rosters, pay compliance and workplace obligations
- Oversee employee relations matters, investigations, performance management and policy development
- Manage compliance across Fair Work, employment legislation, labour agreements and sponsorship programmes
- Partner with operational leaders on workforce planning, engagement, retention and organisational capability
Candidate Profile
The successful candidate will be an experienced people and culture leader with a strong background in hospitality or a similarly high-volume, workforce-intensive environment. You will bring deep knowledge of industrial relations, workplace compliance and employment frameworks, along with the confidence to advise senior stakeholders and support leaders across all levels of the business. This is a role for someone who is both strategic and hands-on, with the credibility and judgement to operate effectively in a fast-moving hospitality setting.
You will bring:
- Proven senior HR or people and culture leadership experience within hospitality
- Strong working knowledge of hospitality Awards, Fair Work legislation and workplace compliance requirements
- Demonstrated experience managing employee relations, investigations and performance matters
- Exposure to labour agreements, visa sponsorship programmes and broader workforce compliance frameworks
- Strong stakeholder management skills, sound commercial judgement and the ability to influence across the business
