Job Description
Reporting to the ownership and executive leadership team, the Group Operations Manager will take responsibility for operational and commercial performance across the portfolio. This role will suit a highly capable multi-site operator who has worked within a sophisticated hospitality group and understands how to translate group strategy into disciplined venue-level execution.
The successful candidate will balance strategic leadership with a visible presence in the venues. They will support Venue Managers, establish scalable operating rhythms and create the accountability, systems and leadership capability required for sustainable growth.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead, coach and hold Venue Managers accountable for commercial, operational and people outcomes.
- Drive revenue, profitability, labour productivity and cost control across the group.
- Establish scalable systems, reporting structures, operating standards and performance measures.
- Improve consistency across service, food, beverage, guest experience and venue presentation.
- Build leadership capability, succession plans and a strong pipeline of operational talent.
- Partner with the executive team on acquisitions, integrations, refurbishments and new venue openings.
- Maintain high standards across licensing, compliance, food safety, workplace health and safety and risk management.
Candidate Profile
You are an accomplished hospitality operator with meaningful multi-site experience across premium pubs, hotels or high-volume venue groups. You have likely progressed through venue leadership into an area, regional or group operations position and are now seeking a role with broader influence and the opportunity to help build a business.
You understand the pace, complexity and commercial expectations of a leading hospitality group, but you are equally motivated by the opportunity to create rather than simply inherit an established operating model. You are credible with venue teams, commercially disciplined and confident working closely with owners and senior stakeholders.
You will bring:
- Proven experience leading multiple high-volume pubs, hotels or hospitality venues.
- Strong commercial acumen, including detailed knowledge of venue P&Ls, labour, margins and performance reporting.
- A track record of improving venue performance through clear standards, leadership and accountability.
- Experience developing Venue Managers and building high-performing operational teams.
- The ability to introduce structure and discipline without compromising entrepreneurial energy.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and the confidence to contribute to group-level decisions.
- Experience with acquisitions, venue integrations, openings or major refurbishments will be highly regarded.
