This established hospitality group operates a portfolio of distinctive and highly regarded venues across Sydney. Known for creating vibrant, experience-led concepts with a strong focus on food, beverage and genuine hospitality, the business has built an excellent reputation within the industry. They are seeking an accomplished General Manager to lead one of their prominent inner-city venues.

Job Description

Reporting into senior operational leadership, the General Manager will take full ownership of the day-to-day operation and performance of the venue. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring a strong presence on the floor, sound commercial judgement and the ability to develop a high-performing team while maintaining an exceptional guest experience.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Lead all aspects of venue operations, ensuring consistently high standards of service and presentation

  • Recruit, develop and retain a capable and engaged front-of-house team

  • Manage budgets, labour, cost controls and broader venue performance

  • Work collaboratively with the kitchen and senior leadership teams to deliver a cohesive guest experience

  • Build a positive, accountable workplace culture while maintaining operational and compliance standards

Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will be an experienced hospitality leader who understands the pace, detail and personality required to operate a premium, high-volume venue. You will be equally comfortable leading from the floor, developing your management team and taking responsibility for the commercial performance of the business.

You will bring:

  • Demonstrated experience as a General Manager or senior venue leader within quality hospitality

  • Strong food and beverage knowledge, ideally gained in respected restaurant, bar or premium casual environments

  • Proven people leadership skills with the ability to coach, motivate and hold teams accountable

  • Strong commercial acumen across labour, COGS, budgeting and operational performance

  • A genuine commitment to hospitality, guest experience and building a strong venue culture

Offer

This is an opportunity to take ownership of an established Sydney venue within a respected hospitality business. The role offers genuine operational autonomy, the support of an experienced leadership team and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on both the team and venue performance.
