Job Description
As the Chef de Cuisine you will lead the culinary operations of a high-quality Italian restaurant. This role is responsible for executing a refined, seasonal menu rooted in authentic Italian cuisine while maintaining exceptional standards of quality, consistency, and efficiency.
The ideal candidate brings a balance of culinary creativity, operational discipline, and leadership, with a strong understanding of California’s ingredient-driven food culture.
Key Responsibilities
Culinary Leadership

Oversee all kitchen operations, ensuring consistency, quality, and execution across all services

Execute and evolve menus in alignment with the restaurant’s Italian concept and seasonal availability

Maintain high standards in food preparation, presentation, and flavor profiles
Team Leadership & Development

Lead, train, and mentor a high-performing kitchen team

Foster a positive, professional, and accountable kitchen culture

Manage scheduling, performance, and ongoing development of BOH staff
Operational Excellence

Manage inventory, ordering, and vendor relationships

Maintain food cost targets and support overall financial performance

Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation standards (California regulations)
Collaboration

Partner closely with FOH leadership to deliver a seamless guest experience

Support menu education and alignment across the broader team
Qualifications
-
3–5+ years experience as a Chef de Cuisine or Exec Sous Chef in a high-quality Italian or Mediterranean concept

Strong foundation in traditional Italian techniques (fresh pasta, sauces, butchery, etc.)

Proven ability to manage food cost, labor, and kitchen operations

Experience working with seasonal, locally sourced ingredients

Strong leadership and communication skills
