Job Description

This role is responsible for driving new business opportunities and building long-term relationships across the corporate, conferencing and events sectors. Working closely with venue leadership, the Business Development Manager will identify growth opportunities, maximise venue utilisation and strengthen the venue’s presence within the local market.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Proactively generate and convert new business opportunities across conferencing and events

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local corporate clients, agencies and community networks

  • Conduct venue site inspections and present tailored event solutions to prospective clients

  • Collaborate with internal operational teams to ensure seamless event execution

  • Develop and implement strategic sales initiatives to drive revenue growth

Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will be a commercially driven hospitality sales professional with strong local market knowledge and an established network across the Gold Coast events and corporate sectors. You will be confident building relationships, identifying opportunities and representing a premium hospitality offering.

Key skills and experience include:

  • Proven experience in business development, sales or events within hospitality or venues

  • Strong knowledge of the Gold Coast market with established local relationships

  • Experience selling conferencing, events or function spaces

  • Exceptional communication, presentation and negotiation skills

  • A proactive and results-focused approach with strong commercial acumen
