With a commitment to developing its people and promoting from within, the business offers an excellent environment for ambitious hospitality professionals looking to build a long-term management career.

Job Description

As Assistant General Manager, you will work closely with the General Manager to lead the day-to-day operation of a busy, multi-faceted pub in North Sydney. The role combines hands-on floor leadership with operational and commercial responsibilities, making it an excellent opportunity for an experienced manager ready to broaden their skill set and take the next step towards senior venue leadership.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead and motivate the venue team to deliver consistently high standards of service
  • Support the General Manager across day-to-day operations, financial performance and people management
  • Maintain strong standards across food, beverage, functions and guest experience
  • Assist with recruitment, training, rostering and ongoing development of the team
  • Drive a positive venue culture while maintaining operational and compliance standards

Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will be an experienced hospitality manager who enjoys being visible on the floor and leading from the front. You will have a strong understanding of premium pub or high-volume hospitality operations and the ability to balance guest experience, team leadership and commercial outcomes.

You will bring:

  • Previous management experience within a quality pub, bar, restaurant or comparable hospitality environment
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to develop and engage a diverse team
  • Sound operational knowledge across food and beverage service
  • Commercial awareness and an understanding of labour, costs and venue performance
  • A genuine desire to progress into broader senior management roles

Offer

This is an opportunity to join a well-established hospitality business that can provide genuine career progression beyond this venue. The breadth of the operation will provide excellent exposure for an ambitious manager looking to develop towards a General Manager position and future opportunities across the wider group.
